Understanding Your Mindset as the Expert
What is Mindset
No business plan will help without the right mindset behind it to back up execution. Think of your mindset as an engine made up of a complex array of moving parts which are your beliefs, thoughts and patterns ingrained in you since childhood.
Mindset coaching is about working with people to help them configure that engine to set and achieve their desired goals in work and life.
This is achieved by:
- Reviewing where they are now and what they have tried so far.
- Being honest about what has worked and what has not worked and WHY.
- Helping them dig deep to get clear about what they genuinely want, and not what others want for them.
- Coming up with and discussing options for immediate action for success.
- Continuing to monitor the execution of a plan and adjust when things don’t go as planned to continue to achieve success.
Where Mindset Coaching differs, is that in addition to the five steps above, a mindset coach works with clients to uncover the beliefs, blocks, behaviours, habits, and patterns of thinking that prevent them from living the life or creating the business they desire.
Business Plan + Money - Mindset = Failure
How Mindset Coaching differs from a Therapist
Mindset Coaches are typically skilled in using a range of neuroscience-based and therapeutic techniques including Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). This is in addition to their knowledge and experience with more traditional coaching practices. Because Mindset Coaches have the tools to gain deep insight and understanding of their clients and the way they think and show up in the world, they are easily able to apply techniques designed to shift perception, change minds and therefore change lives.
When I talk about mindset work, I want people to know it is not just academic. I Infuse much of my life and entrepreneurial experience to help them understand and frame what it is they are experiencing. Mindset coaching also works to empower an individual to create resilience and coping mechanisms to execute on their own within entrepreneurship. It is traditionally a faster route to resolution when it comes to a barrier in achieving some goal or action.

Understanding Mindset + Working on Mindset = Greater Success
How Mindset Coaching differs from Traditional Coaching
The three core factors are beliefs, behavior, and emotions.

Beliefs
The goal of analyzing beliefs is understanding that those beliefs holding you back, often referred to as limiting beliefs, are usually rooted in childhood whether through parental experience or personal trauma. Our goal, in the work that we do, is to identify and analyze that limiting belief and work to either cope with it or remove it.
When we think of these three core factors hopefully it gives you some clarity on how they are all intertwined with one another and not mutually exclusive.
